On the 2nd of July the Austrian Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer visited the municipality of Mureck to see for himself the excellent work of the companies of the “Murecker Energiekreislauf” (Power Circuit of Mureck), the SEEG, Nahwärme and Ökostrom Mureck. With the project “Murecker Energiekreislauf”, the municipality of Mureck was honoured as “Austria’s Most Innovative Municipality in 2007”. As a consequence, the entire staff joined politicians and the media to welcome their distinguished guest.
Chairman Josef Reiter-Haas, Vice Chairman Karl Totter jun. and Senior Manager Ök.-Rat Karl Totter explained about the innovative generation of bioenergy by the “Murecker Energiekreislauf”. Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer praised the climate protection activities of bioenergy and restated the need to produce and use renewable energy.
