The Styrian company Komptech, leading international technology provider for machines and system equipment for mechanical and biological treatment of solid waste and biomass, delivers special equipment to Japan for the cleanup efforts following the earthquake and tsunami disaster. The machines will support preparation of the rubble for subsequent treatment and further processing.
The project is focussing on crushing and transport of the piles and piles of rubble and waste as well as their subsequent recycling. For this task, the Frohnleiten specialist has exactly the right machinery in its product range. “Terminator” and “Crambo” are the names of the universal waste crushers used depending on the composition of the material. And five additional machines with an overall order value of two million Euros have now been ordered for this task by the Japanese partner, with which the company has been cooperating for meanwhile 15 years. The equipment available on site has additionally been assigned for disaster deployment already and is being used for cleanup work.
Beside the treatment of the material resulting from the catastrophe, Komptech is also hoping for a change in the Japanese energy policy by attaching higher importance to renewable energy and above the field of biomass.
Meanwhile, the Komptech Group with its headquarters in Frohnleiten (Styria) has about 500 employees at nine locations in five countries and last year generated a turnover of about 88 million Euros. This year, for the first time in company history, the 100 million Euro record should be broken.
